Planning updates
The following applications have received approval.
- 71, Walston Road. Alterations to rear windows and doors.
- Wenvoe Library. Field Maple – to remove one multi stem tree (1) as it is dangerous and to reduce the crown of the other (2) by 25%.
- Station House, 1 Station Terrace. Loft conversion. Existing garage re-built and extended.
- Brackendene, Burdonshill Lane, Proposed replacement outbuildings on existing equestrian manege structure.
- Wrinstone Farm, Station Road East. Proposed 5 new stables, tack room and manege.
- Whitehall Farm, St. Lythans Road. Reinstatement of openings on side elevation and rear gable end changed to flat roof with two new windows at first floor level
- 42, Gwern Close. Convert integrated garage to a habitable room, replace existing garage door with a white pvc sliding patio door and matching brickwork.
The Village Hall -application for the removal of the Cypress tree facing Old Port Road has been refused. There was insufficient justification to remove the amenity value tree.
The proposal for the construction of a New Care Home At Glenburnie, Port Road e, Port Road will be considered by the Vale planning committee at the end of November. The planning officers are recommending approval.
New Library Building – the granting of planning permission is still awaited before a work schedule for its replacement can be developed.
Proposals for using the S106 Money are being discussed. Certain suggestions fall outside the criteria for use of the money and a few ideas exceeded the available funds. We hope funding will allow completion of most of the rest. Please respond to the S106 article seeking additional information in relation to suggestions.
The Council intend to reopen the Community Centre for the use by the Scouts, final discussions on maintaining Covid-19 safety are taking place. Use of the hall by other organisations will be considered after this initial use is assessed.
With the increased residential population in the north of the community, the Council is investigating the possibility of locating an Emergency Defibrillator in the area. The location requires free public access and an electricity supply.
Footpath 21 from Burdons Close to Burdonshill is not signed where it leaves the road and passes between the houses; also the section to the rear of properties to the stile requires improvement. The Vale will be contacted
