Upper Orchid Field Annual Cut Completed

Visitors to the Upper Orchid Field will have noticed that its annual cut has been completed. Our thanks to John Crockford for this.

Sue Hoddell hosted Wenvoe Beavers for a session at the community orchard. The group were working toward their Earth Tribe badge, which encourages them to be aware of their environment and to do more to help and protect it.

Shirley Willis and Judy McDonald have started the Group’s project with the nursery section in the School. Soil has been delivered by British Soil and 3 planters filled, with additional help from the Caretaker. The children have planted potatoes, asparagus, radishes, shallots and herbs for pollinators amongst others. Willow was collected from the Community Orchard to make wigwam shapes for peas to climb up.
