MATH SKILLS INVOLVED IN DARTS
Local Wenvoe resident Kate Pridham, Academy Director at Cogan Coronation Junior Darts Corporation (JDC) Academy, recently led a special community sports session as part of the summer “Food & Fun” programme at Pencoedtre High School in Barry.
The session brought together young people from across the area to experience the fun, focus, and mental math skills involved in darts. A highlight of the morning was the involvement of six senior academy players – Archie, Dylan, Drew, Jack, Theo, and Evan Green – who stepped into mentoring and coaching roles, guiding the school students through fun challenges and team games.
“It was a fantastic opportunity to give back to the local community and introduce new children to a sport we are all so passionate about,” said Kate. “Our academy players represented us with real excellence and proved to be brilliant role models for the younger pupils.”
Cogan Coronation JDC Academy supports young people across the Vale of Glamorgan in developing their darts skills in a fun, structured, and supportive environment.
