An Hour of Storytelling

Wenvoe residents Eirwen Malin and Phil Thomas would like to invite you to their home in Old Port Road for an hour of storytelling from storyteller Carl Gough followed by drinks, some of Eirwen’s legendary homemade soup and a chance to meet some other fans of storytelling and, perhaps, others from the village you may not know.

There is no ticket price as such. We would ask for a donation to cover costs and the storyteller’s fee. Any surplus will be donated to Parkinson’s UK and The Beyond The Border International Storytelling Festival.

Places will be limited to 25 so please email philipthomas664@gmail.com or call 07870 212437 by Monday 2nd October to reserve a place and receive address details.

Please note – these are adult tales (some were considered “…oo vulgar for Victorian sensibilities…) So please be aware – not for children!

We hope to see you.

Eirwen and Phil

Wenvoe Christmas Craft Fair

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 26th 2017 10 am – 4 pm

Wenvoe Community Centre

Put the date in your diary! Not long to go now until the second annual Wenvoe Christmas Craft Fair from Wenvoe Craft Workshop. All of the tables are booked and we have a lot of new and exciting crafts. This is the perfect opportunity to pick up unique, hand crafted gifts for those much-loved-but-awkward blighters amongst your family and friends. Why not buy a gift for yourself too? At least you’ll have one Christmas present you like! You can also find a lot of high quality, unusual stocking fillers that won't be stocked on the high street. When you have done your shopping you can relax and have a hot/cold drink and a slice of home made cake (the portion sizes are not for the faint hearted) and a chat. The raffle has some really lovely, good quality prizes so make sure you buy some tickets. Bring your friends, we’ll be really glad to see you.

If you are a Wenvoe Crafter who has not yet thought about having a table at one of our craft fairs why not have a go. You can contact us and we will try our best to accommodate you at the Spring Fair. For more information please contact the organisers, Glenys and Mike Tucker, on 07922109721 or at pukkatucker@gmail.com or take a look at out Facebook event page at Wenvoe Christmas Craft Fair.

The Secondary Breast Cancer Strollers are a new group of walkers which form part of the walking programme offered by local charity, Valeways.

Lynne Frugtniet leads the group and invites cancer patients, their friends and families to come for a short stroll at Cosmeston, have a chat en route and finish with a coffee.

Walks are the first Thursday of every month at 10:30am. Walks start from reception at Cosmeston.
