\n\tAnd passing Wenvoe on my way
\n\tWas pleased to see such progress made,
\n\tAs it is always good for trade.
\n\tI mean the village is so changed,
\n\tNew houses built and well arranged,
\n\tThe gardens and the walks so clean,
\n\tWhich proves that some one lives within.
\n\tTen years ago this village look'd dilapidated,
\n\tAnd men forsook the place,
\n\tAnd went to other soil
\n\t\"\"To get their bread by honest toil.
\n\tBut now its progress is so great,
\n\tNew houses built in every street,
\n\tThat every man can work who will
\n\tAccording to his strength and skill.
\n\tTis quite a treat for those who ride,
\n\tIn brakes and traps to the seaside,
\n\tTo pass this place, with meadows fair,
\n\tAnd peace and beauty everywhere.
\n\tThe Church is getting much too small
\n\tTo seat the people when they all
\n\tCome as they ought on Sunday there,
\n\tTo spend the time in praise and prayer.
\n\tThe tower is low, it has no pride,
\n\tBut scaffolding now stands by its side,
\n\tAnd workmen soon will point its face
\n\tAnd raise its head to grace the place.\n<\/p>\n
