We learned about the history of Walston Castle and The Grange and about women who had played a prominent part in Wenvoe\u2019s past, including Gertrude Jenner, who was a prominent supporter of Women\u2019s Rights in the latter half of the 19th century, and one of the first suffragists in Wales.<\/p>\n<p>Our October 1st meeting is a change to our published programme. We will be having our \u201cBring a Bottle\u201d (empty wine type!) workshop. This will be preceded by a short presentation from Charlotte from Vale DAS, our chosen charity for the year, which had to be postponed in February.<\/p>\n<p>The Harvest Supper will now be a Sparkling Supper on November 5th.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors are always welcome to our meetings, which are held in the Church Hall at 7.00pm on the first Thursday of the month. We will also be at the Community Engagement Day, so come along to meet us and find out more about the WI.
