The good news is that a few simple online safety habits can dramatically reduce your risk of becoming a victim. This is an informative and practical session explaining how cybercriminals operate, the warning signs to look out for, and the simple steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and your finances.

If you have received a suspicious email, text message, or phone call, or are concerned about something that has appeared on your computer, tablet, or mobile phone, please bring your device along. Owen, our cybercrime officer, will be happy to offer advice and guidance. For a monthly fee, users are provided with an alarm system and a personal alarm, worn either as a pendant on a neck cord or as a wristwatch. In the event of a fall, illness, or emergency, the user can press the alarm button to speak directly with a Telecare operator through the home unit. The operator can then contact a family member, carer, or emergency services if required.

Wenvoe Community Library Hub is now able to provide replacement Telecare watch straps and neck cords. No personal details are required to obtain these replacement items. The Hub can also accept the return of Telecare equipment. This may be necessary if a user has moved into long-term residential care or has passed away. Returned equipment should be placed in a bag clearly labelled with the name and address of the person to whom it belonged and handed to a Hub volunteer.

Please ensure that Telecare has been informed that the equipment is being returned and that Wenvoe Community Library Hub has been nominated as the return location.

WENVOE COMMUNITY HUB Tel: 02920 594176 – during opening hours or wenvoelibrary@outlook.com Like and follow us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/WenvoeCommunityLibrary For general enquiries you can email us at wenvoelibrary@outlook.com Report from the Hub July 2026 OPENING HOURS We are now open Monday, Tuesday and Wednes-day 10 am – 4 pm and Saturday 9 am – 1 pm.
