However, Autumn is here and it is worth repeating the Watch advice about how to reduce the possibility of your house being burgled. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Criminals will look for homes that: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Seem unoccupied <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Have little or no security <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Have doors or windows left open or <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Where they think they won\u2019t be seen <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">As a general rule if it looks as if there is someone inside, the burglar is likely to go elsewhere. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Here are the things to remember: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b>Windows <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.05pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Are they closed and locked? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.05pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 If sensors are fitted, are they activated? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Don\u2019t forget garages, sheds, or outhouses. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b>Doors <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Are all outside doors (front. rear and patio) locked, preferably deadlocked? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Are keys kept out of sight but readily available for your use? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><b>Inside <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 Are your lights on a timer? <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"margin-bottom: 0.1pt; padding-left: 40px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">\u2022 If you have one, is your house alarm switched on?
