{"id":10111,"date":"2021-08-23T17:30:48","date_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:30:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wenvoe.org.uk\/?p=10111"},"modified":"2021-08-23T17:31:11","modified_gmt":"2021-08-23T16:31:11","slug":"a-wenvoe-forum-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wenvoe.org.uk\/?p=10111","title":{"rendered":"A Wenvoe Forum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Default\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt; color: #008000;\"><b>A WENVOE FORUM &#8211; CONSIDERING TODAY AND TOMORROW<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>We had a very interesting and encouraging meeting with Vale of Glamorgan attended by our Senedd Member, Jane Hutt, Councillor Jonathan Bird, Tom Bowring, VoG Head of Policy and Business Transformation and Nicola Sumner Smith from the Creative Rural Communities Team.<\/p>\n<p>Tom gave an overview of the Vale Council\u2019s approach to reducing the carbon emissions they generate as part of their commitment to combat the climate crisis. For those of you who missed the meeting here are links to very short videos that were issued as part of VoG\u2019s consultation on their plan Project Zero.<\/p>\n<p>These along with other links will be on our Facebook group. We seem to be ahead of the game in involving them so let\u2019s capitalise on that, get our ideas together promptly and ask for their help. Send any ideas to gwenfo.forum@gmail.com or share them via the Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p>Currently we are quite a small group and will need help from all of you if we are to really make a difference. We will be deciding on the next priority at the next forum meeting. Look out for details in the September What&#8217;s On.<\/p>\n<p>Ideas on climate change that were discussed on 1st July and under consideration are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A community energy scheme;you can find information about these at<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.communityenergywales.org.uk\/\">http:\/\/www.communityenergywales.org.uk\/<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Encouraging walking within the village e.g. setting up a walking school bus<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edenprojectcommunities.com\/stuff-to-do\/organise-a-walking-bus\">https:\/\/www.edenprojectcommunities.com\/stuff-to-do\/organise-walking-bus<\/a><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li>Finding ways to make \u2018lower food miles\u2019 food easily available in the village.<\/li>\n<li>Reducing air pollution<\/li>\n<li>And others<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Whilst climate change is high on everyone\u2019s agenda you may have ideas for strengthening the Wenvoe community and economy or just making it a nicer place to live.
